Frequently asked questions

How is SSC MTS age calculated?
Recent MTS notices use a 1 August as-on date (MTS-2025: 01-08-2025). MTS posts are typically 18–25 years; Havaldar in CBIC/CBN and some MTS posts are 18–27. You must have been born not later than as-on minus 18 years, and not earlier than as-on minus the post maximum plus one day. Verify the latest notice on ssc.gov.in.
Does this tool decide if I can apply?
No. It is an indicative band-and-category check. ESM, widow/divorced, and central-employee rules are in the official notice. IAMTOPPER is not affiliated with SSC and does not guarantee selection.
What as-on date should I use for MTS 2026?
The default here is 2026-08-01 (1 August convention). If the 2026 notice uses a different date, change the as-on field and treat the notice as source of truth.
